This is a completely unconfirmed story, however there is a YouTube video out today claiming to be Android running on an Armadillo-500.
Gabriel Palomino is reporting that Benno (previously blogged about here) is responsible for porting the emulator from the SDK, but his blog has not been updated so I can’t confirm what we see in the video. Obviously the video is cut short and very poor, and it would have been nice for the video to last 60 seconds and at least give us some real information. At this time, even if this turns out to be real, it has little practical use, and I don’t expect any ports like this to be of any use until the real source code is out and hardware is released by manufacturers that will properly support it.
The Armadillo-500 is a new ARM11 CPU (Freescale i.MX31L) running at 400MHz. It has been released as a dev kit and has recently gained Linux driver support, however I could not see that it was present in any commercial devices at this time.
